In past years IT was at peak .. even small companies were making high profit but its look like their period is over now so which sector will b at boom, next is going to be terrorism.

What you say guys, I am not wrong you may take examples from the recent past.
lots of such things all around the globe.

It seems funny but logical, not only a part of the world is facing this problem, but all people around the globe are affected because of this serious problem.
we must take some hard decisions to curb this up, otherwise the aftermaths are really difficult to face.

Good Bye laptops

Can any one ever imagine of life without laptops or desktops now.!!!

hmmm...yes but need anything else that replaces them.

So Japan is always ready to help you out with their technlogy.Since its a time of microtechnology, everything is modeled as small as it can be so you not computers.

Amazing technology from Japan . . . but can you guess what it is ?Look closely and guess what they could be...

This is something that will replace your PC in the near future.Beleive it or not this the the future of forthcoming computers.

After looking the picture to the right you might guess wht I'm talking about.

In the revolution of miniature computers, scientists have made great developments with bluetooth technology. This is the forthcoming computers you can carry within your pockets, they are very small in size comparable to pen.

This "pen sort of instrument" produces both the monitor as well as the keyboard on any flat surfaces from where you can carry out functions you would normally do on your desktop computer.

Now one may say, "Good-bye laptops!"

Web Directories

Web directories-A directory of useful information to the common person who wants to find helpful resources. A collection of all kind of information.

Web directories don't exactly have the reputation of being helpful resources for finding information. Most have become endless pits of links, and wading through them to find anything useful is next to impossible. Then there are the human-edited ones that tend to be more useful, but are aimed more at the submitter promoting their business than they really are towards the user who is there to find information.

One might say why one should go for web directories when we have google, yahoo, msn and many other search engines. No matter how much emphasis search engines put on relevancy, if you want to find a collection of useful resources on a particular topic, you will be left wading through pages and pages to come up with them. Still most of the people use search engines to find information they are looking for.

Some of the directories are still usefull.dont expect that your link is indexed in the directories, but one can submit it in some of free directories.Old yahoo directory is one of the useful directory, but now its bombarded with submissions, ut that is the beauty of keepingthis one related to a niche.

Try them instead of search engines you will get more relevant informations what you are looking for.

How they got their names

Have you ever tought of this, the brandnames product you are using in daily life, how they came from, that makes your life so comfortable. Here are the some of these.

Apple Computers
It was the favourite frite of the founder Steve Jobs. He was three months late in filing a
name for the business, and he threatened to call his company Apple Computers if the other
colleagues din't suggest a better name by 5 O' clock.

Cisco
It is not an acronym as populalrly beleived. It is short for San Francisco.

Compaq
This name was formed by using COMp,for computer, and PAQ to denote a small integral object.

Corel
The name was derieved from the founder's name Dr. Micheal Cowland. Its stand for COwpland
REsearch Laboratory.

Google
The name started as a joke doasting about the amount of information the search-engine would
able to search. It was originally named 'Googol',a word for the number represented by 1
followed by 100 zeros. After founders-Stanford graduate students Sergey Brin and Larry Page
presented their project to an angel investor, they received a cheque made out to 'Google'

Hotmail
Rounder Jack Smith got the idea of accessing e-mail vai web from a computer anywhere in the
world. When Sabeer Bhatia same up with the business plan for the mail service,he tried all
kinds of names ending in 'mail' and finally settled for hotmail as it included the letters
"html" - the programming language used to write web pages. It was initially refrred to as
HoTMaiL with selecting uppercasing.

Hewlett Packard
Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard tossed a coin to decide whether the company they founded would
be called Hewlett-Packard or Packard-Hewlett.

Intel
Bob Noyce and GordonMoore wanted to name their new company 'Moore Noyce' but that was
already trademarked by a hotel chain so they had to settle for an acronym for INTegrated
ELectronics.

Lotus(Notes)
Mitch Kapor got the name for his company from 'The Lotus Position' or 'Padmasana'.Kapor used
to be a teacher of Transcendental Meditation of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

Microsoft
Coined by Bill Gates to represent the company that was devoted to MICROcomputer
SOFTware.Originally christened Micro-Soft, the'-' was removed later on.

Motorola
Founder Paul Galvin came up with this name when his comapany started manufacturing radios
for cars. The popular radio company at the time was called victoria.

ORACLE
Larry Ellison and Bob Oats were working on a consulting project for the CIA(Central
Intelligence Agency). The code name for the project was called Oracle(the CIa saw this as the
system to give answers to all or something such). The projest was designed to help use the
newly written SQL code by IBM.The project eventually was terminated but Larry and ?Bob
decided to finish what they started and bring it to the world. They kept the name Oracle and
created the RDBMS engine.Later they kept the same name for the company.

Sony
It originated from the latin word 'sonus' meaning sound, and 'sonny' a slang used by Americans to refer to a bright youngster.

SUN
Founded by 4 Stanford University buddies,SUN is the acronym for Stanford University
Network.Andreas Bechtolsheim built a microcomputer,Vinod Khosla recruited him and Scott
Mcnealy to manufacture companies based on it,and Bill Joy to develop a UNIX-based OS for the
computer.

Yahoo!
The word was invented by Jonathan Swift and used in his book 'Gulliver's Travels'.It represented a person who is repulsive in appearance and action and is barely human.Yahoo! Founders Jerry Yang and David Filo selected the name because they consider themselves
yahoos.

There is lot of hard work involved in all the discoveries. The concerned person put lot of efforts in discovering a new thing, but sometimes few things just happen by luck or by accident. Some of such accidental discoveries are.
1.Viagra
Men being treated for erectile dysfunction should salute the working stiffs of Merthyr Tydfil, the Welsh hamlet where,in 1992 trails, the gravity-defying side effects of new angina drug first popped up.Previously, the blue-collar town was known for producing a different kind of iron.
2.X-Ray
Several 19th-century scientists toyed with the penetrating rays emitted when electrons strike a metal target. But the x-ray wasn't discovered until 1895, when German egghead Wilhelm Rontgen tried sticking various objects in front of the radiation - and saw the bones of his hand projected on the wall.
3.LSD
Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann took the world's first acid hit in 1943,when he touched a smidge of lysergic acid diethylamide,a chemical he had researched for inducing childbirth,He later tried a bigger dose and made another discovery:the bad trip.
4.Penicillin
Scottish scientist Alexander Fleming was researching the flu in 1928 when he noticed that a blue green mold had infected one of his petridishes - and killed the staphylococcus bacteria growing in it.All hail sloppy lab work!
5.Artificial Sweeteners
Speaking of botched lab jobs, three leading pseudo-sugars reached human lips only because scientists forgot to wash their hands.Cyclamate(1937) and aspartame(1965) are byproducts of medical reasearch, and sacharin(1879) appeared during a project on coal tar derivatives,Yummy.
6.Microwave Ovens
Microwave emitters(or magnetrons)powered Allied radar in WWII.The leap from detecting Nazis to nuking nachos came in 1946, after a magnetron melted a candy bar in Raytheon engineer Percy Spencer's pocket.
7.Brandy
Medieval wine merchants used to boil the H2O out of wine so their delicate cargo would keep better and take up less space at sea. Before long, some intrepid soul-our money's on a sailor - decided to bypass the reconstitution stage, and brandy was born.Pass the Courvoisier!
8.Vulacanised Rubber
Rubber rots badly and smells worse, unless it's vulcanised.Ancient Mesoamericans had their own version of the process, but Charles Goodyear rediscovered it in 1839 when he unintentionally(well, at least according to most accounts) dropped a rubber-sulfur compound onto a hot stove.
9.Silly Putty
In the early 1940s, General Electric scientist James Wright was working on artificial rubber for the war effort when he mixed boric acid and silicon oil.V-J Day din't come any sonner, but comic strip image-streching practically became a national pastime.
10.Potato chips
Chef George Crum concocted the perfect sandwich complement in 1853 when-to spite a suctomer who compalin that his fries were cut too thick-he sliced a potato paper-thin and fried it to a crisp.Needless to say,the diner couldn't eat just one.
Might be some luck involved in them but after all of this lot of the discoverers effort was involved in bringing them to real worlds use.If you have any such thing share it.

Page Ranking Concept

Friends recently I apeared for a exam on information retrieval that contains a unit on page
ranking. And many bloggers are interested in knowing thier page rank. How much popular is
their blog or site over the net.Do anyone think of this that how this is calculated by
google.

Let me tell you some think about this.I dont know about this topic much butas far as our books tell me I get to know some things and I am today going to share them
with you all.

Firstly what if some page rank is high,it means if your page rank is high and its somehow
related to some users query, then results displyed to him contains the your page at the top
slot if none of the other page retreived have highr page rank than yours and followed by
others. If some page get good rank it is displayed on the first results of user queries, this
means that page get higher probability of higher number of visitors per day.
Might be their are more factors google considers but this page rank concept depends on two
major factors(according to our syllabus).

1)Relevance ranking by hyperlinks.
2)Relevance ranking by text.

Now you must be wonderring what they mean.Dont worry,I'll explain them in details.
Hyperlinks-People you all know they are actually the page URL's pointed to your page from
others blog or sites.Soppose if your page or blog is hyperlinked by many pages over
WWW,then you got a better page rank.People may exploit this using linking each others blog
and they used to.That's why people make a concept of blogroll in their blogsthat contains the link of other blogs and simmilarly their blog link poited by other blogs.

Also search engine rankers consider that from which page your page is hyperlinked, since its
also important that if one get hyperlinked from a page of higher ranking then its given
more weightage.

Text-This the the actual text one have in his/her blog or site. And ranking from text is calculated by the weightage of the keywords of page text.(keywords-special words used in your article, not common words). Now a seo used to calculate the weightage of that word in your page using the concept of relavance ranking by text.It calculates the number of occurances of that keyword in some page and total number of other words. And use these two parameters to get the actual page rank depending on these factors. So a page with a keyword orientage get a better page rank
in few days.

This is the one reason most of the SEO's recommends to have more number of posts to get a
higher page rank.So more number of keywords are enrolled on your page helps you to get a
higher page rank.

So the total ranking of a page depends upon these two factors and calculated on combining
these two factors.

To check your page rank, their are many page ranking tools available on net,use them to get to know about your blogs page rank.

If anyone have more information related to this please share.I know only this much, but I
want to know more their might be other factors that google considers in page ranking.
Any quieries related to this are invited.

A true story

This is a true story from the Japanese Embassy in US.

A few years ago, Prime Minister Mori was given some Basic English conversation training before he visits Washington and meets president Bill Clinton. The instructor told Mori "Prime Minister, when you shake hand with President Clinton, please say 'how are you'. Then Mr. Clinton should say, "I am fine, and you?" Now you should say 'me too'. Afterwards we, translators, will do all the work for you." It looks quite simple, but the truth is.... When Mori met Clinton, he mistakenly said "Who Are You?" Mr. Clinton was a bit shocked but still managed to react with humor: "Well, I am Hilary's husband, ha-ha...." Then Mori replied confidently "Me too, ha ha ha."

Then there was a long silence in the meeting room, nobody knew what to do!!!!!!!!!! !!!

First online earning

As I came to know about this on march 20th of 2008 that one can easily earn as he wan from internet. One of my freind told me about http://www.floxter.com/ and yeah I really earned money from that site.I get paid $50 within 10 days.

Proof of payment..

Solve simple tasks online and get paid!
Receive reward payments via PayPal or donate your reward to support a charitable project of one of our charity partners World Vision, Greenpeace, UNO - Flüchtlingshilfe.
after that I earned few more from this site and try exploring to get to know about few more earning sites. But hardly get better than this one.If anyone have some more details about such sites that pays for solving such tasks as in www.floxter.com please share.

www.google.com

Since in India google provides search services under www.google.co.in
so if one from India try to open www.google.com, he or she will be directed to www.google.co.in
So one can not open www.google.com directly.Once you are on .co.in then there is an option to visit .com.Similalrally the users from other countries having same facilities as in India also not able to open www.google.com

I came to know about this when I tried to open www.orkut.com and it redirects me to www.orkut.co.in as .co.in services of orkut started in India. Then I logged into my alexa account to check something and when I checked the top visited sites,I found www.yahoo.com on the top and I m not surprised this time as I used to,because I get to know about this why google being most popular but not in the top of the list.

On the second spot its www.google.com and on overall basis google is on the top. When one checks the other top spots in the top 100,you came to know that other site of google like .co.in,.co.uk,.co.ph etc occupied the tops spots.

This was in my mind from a very long that being 53%(as some surveys say,may be I am wrong) of search market is shared by google and rest of by other search engines. And then also alexa say that yahoo.com is the most visited site.
Check this out you get to know about this
http://www.alexa.com/site/ds/top_sites?ts_mode=lang&lang=en
Now I am happy that I came to know about this dilema.

One of the greatest match of the IPTt20 matches.
between rajasthan royals and chennai superskings. In the start no1 even think of royals to reach the finals but they make it to the finals.Rajstah roayals reach semifinal without loosing a single match in their homeground jaipur.Only lost three matches in the league matches.
As delhi dare devils beat them badly in their first encounter in firozshah kotla in delhi. But rajsthan replied so strongly in semifinal n beat delhi by 103 runs, and proves that they are the superior ones.

Same Chennai leaded by Dhoni also played well in the tournament and manage to reach the semifinal.Mohali lost to chennai and that to badly in the semifinal.

Today out the three matches (i.e both semi's and final) was the best.
Match result was decided on the last delivery.May be it was Royals luck that they win today match also.As they were down to 43/3 at one moment in 6 overs and it seam to be a difficult task. But thanks to Yusuf Pathan and Watson Royals manage to win this match.

So Rajasthan, the underdog in the start emerge out to be the strongest of all the teams.
It was due to Shane Warne's captaincy and palyers contribution. As I also feel that start cant do better than the performers. And the yougsters perform better than stars and proves themselve in the series.

So finally IPL come to an end but it was one of the most exciting event in India and everyone enjoyed this, and why not cricket is religion in India and Sachin is God.!!

As CEO of Emerging India and the owner of Rajasthan Royals never expected in the beginning that the team they are owning going to bring this much pride to them. And they come out to be the winners of this series.

May 31st,2008------World No Tobacco Day

Hmm..One of the serious concerns of today .The theme for World No Tobacco Day 2008 was "Free Youth:Break the Tobacco Marketing Net."Since the youth of this generation is effected most by smoking. As every brand either marlboro or wills used to right a TAG line on their cigarette packets that "cigarette smoking is injurious to health" and also everyone I belief is aware of this fact but smokers not able to live a single day without smoke. Each day the number of smokers increasing and these are mainly from the youth.

Few years back, only males used to smoke and now the data is vigoursly changing number of females smokers is rising to a great extent. The smokers number hike is also because of aggressive marketing, govenments dhould tackle this, even WHO also requested the countries to implement some enforcement rules.

Even I am a hostelite and being a student notice this, many of my friends used to smoke regularly and they all are aware if this fact that its injurious to health. But still they used to smoke daily.Their is a small village named Dighi where most of the studnets visit to buy thier cigarettes.

Also I feel that the damage to health due to cigarette smoking can be reducesed with proper diet
when you have proper meals this can be minimised to a great extent, but most of the smokers dont take their meals properly and thier health reduces significantally.

I also feel in India the student stay in hostel are used to smoke more than those who used to stay with their parents.

In the start of my hostel life I also used to smoke but then some how I manage to leave that. Now I used to collect these packets as I love them. And keep collecting...

Diesel prices

I hardly used to read newpaper,so I am not aware of the present hikes in the petrol n diesel prices.I cam to know about this last evening when I reached the petrol pump to fill the tank of my bike. And seeing the results I am shocked, the prices of petrol were increased upto rs 6-7 per litre.

What this nonsense, every time government increase the prices of petrol n diesel and gave a simple explanation for this that prices in world market increased so its hard for the oil companies to sell these on the same rates.

Since the oil prices are increasing in the world market, everyone is aware of this, but I guess in India its increasing to fast. When one compare the oil pices of neighbouring countries one get to know about this.Since Pakistan is also importing oil and oil prices are bit low in pakistan as compared to India.

Leave it,and say its need of the time,ok.But what the government is doing for all this since oil prices are going high and high, and they all are very well aware of this.In India party in rule have to implement these and others start protesting against them, what if they are in command.
Is they going to bring out the good results for the people.

It is a serious issue and govenment as well as people have to think about this to overcome the rising prices of oil in the world market. If this keeps on going like this one day no one is in the situation to buy lifeline for their vehicles,so people take it seriously!!!!

Its not fair to use any fast dropping technique this is not going to help in either way.
I was reading in entrecard c'nity forum from last 2 days, the senior and experinced members dont agree with all this.
they used to drop on thier favorites and get good number of drops back.
So as I started doing this and certainly this helpd me a lot.
the ratio of drops increased a bit but still I find some of my bookmarked friends dont drop back.So soon I am going to update the list and publish it.
So I humbly requet you all entrecard users please stop all fast dropping technique(the illegal ones) and try to coprate and make this dropping ratio to 1:1.
thanks.!!!

Since soon I am going to be a IT professional,So I am started thinking about this.

Hows my life in company campus?

What are the changes I have to make?

many more questions hindering me,but also feel a bit relaxed that I was some how able to become a IT Professional.:P

Anyways while I am thinking all this I came across a article an make me think again about this.

It's true they say that a picture is worth a thousand words.

I don't think there is a better way of explaining our life. Imagine yourself sitting in the black chair...

If this a true , I am sure I m going to face many more difficulties in my professional life, but I am ready to take the chalenges...:P

Wht do you think people since many are working as IT professionals,Is this true...

Recently I was reading a article on green index,a survey by National Geographic Channel.

After reading that I feal a bit relaxed, since I'm a part of the nation hold the top position in green index.

According to the survey,Indians and Brazilians are the most environment friendly people while Americans are the most polluting, a survey by National Geographic magazine and pollsters Globalscan on consumer behaviour has revealed.

The survey of a thousand people each from 14 high-polluting nations listed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has India and Brazil tied for the top spot with 60 green index points. Americans had the lowest score with 44.9 points.

The survey rates Indian eating habits the best, with 84 per cent eating local vegetables at least once a week.Indians don’t waste much and are very good at recycling. The Indian green index is high on account of low per capita energy consumption — at 0.7 kilowatt — and large-scale recycling. India and China are the best users of solar energy.

Since Indians still belive that being a vegeterian you will live more and may be a myth but its working in favour of us.Being an Indian I m proud of this. More than 40% people are concerned about the environmental problems believe these problems can have adverse impact on their health. And why not India is a nation where trees are also treated as God and worshiped.

I dont know much about Brazilians but they are also tied with Indians.this means they are also environmental freindly.

This is also found in the survey that people in developed countries tend to live in big homes, often with environmentally costly air-conditioning, own more cars, drive alone more often and use public transport only infrequently. They are least likely to buy environmentally friendly products.

Inhabitants of developing countries, by contrast, were more likely to live in smaller homes, use green products and own relatively few appliances or electronic gadgets. They also were more likely to walk, cycle, use public transportation and live close to their most frequent destinations.

So its a plus point for both Indians and Brazalians and the US citizens need to think about this.

http://www1.eere.energy.gov/solar/pdfs/solar_timeline.pdf

It is a fine article about man benefiting from solar energy.I wonder there is so much happening in United States of America about solar energy and they are benefiting from the sun because oil prices are going sky high and they are planing for the future. The American Govt. funds and supports such projects in every way possible. But what happens in our country? Most of us are too busy in earning our livelihoods and our Govts are busy in other "Important" issues that we don't have time for these things. I was listening on some news channel that oil prices will hit Rs. 100 per liter in two or three months in Pakistan because oil prices have increased very rapidly in global markets in previous two months and Pakistan government will not be able to subsidize on oil.
